HR Operations & Payroll Manager - FTC 6 months
Role Overview
This is a mid-senior level, fixed-term (6 months) role reporting into the People function at Ledger, a leading crypto and Web3 platform. You will own end-to-end French payroll operations, including DSN filings and variable elements, while managing international mobility, work permits, and employer-of-record partnerships. You'll also handle apprenticeship contracts, equity administration, and mandatory reporting, with a focus on process improvement and compliance. Your impact will be ensuring payroll accuracy and HR operational excellence across a global team of around 600 professionals.
Perks & Benefits
This is a fully remote position, likely allowing you to work from anywhere, though you'll need to align with French payroll timelines and legal deadlines. Ledger offers a dynamic, innovative culture focused on digital ownership and employee empowerment, with opportunities for process redesign and ownership. While not explicitly stated, typical remote tech roles at this level may include flexible hours, home office budget, and potential equity or token grants, given the company's crypto focus.

The Mission:
We're looking for a sharp, structured operator to own payroll and HR operations end-to-end on a fixed-term basis — someone equally comfortable navigating compliance deadlines and redesigning a process from scratch. You'll sit at the core of our People function, touching everything from monthly payroll to international mobility and employer-of-record partnerships.
Key responsibilities include :
Payroll & compliance
End-to-end management of monthly payroll runs, variable elements, and statutory filings (DSN). You'll make sure nothing slips — and spot issues before they become problems.
Immigration & international mobility
Managing employee visa applications, work permits, and international hires — working to strict legal deadlines across multiple jurisdictions.
Employer of Record (EOR) management
Structuring and overseeing EOR arrangements where we don't have a local entity — contract setup, local payroll coordination, and third-party provider management.
Apprenticeships, internships & OPCO
Administering apprenticeship contracts and internship agreements — pay scales, OPCO relations, funding, amendments, and liaison with partner institutions.
Equity & mandatory reporting
Tax and declarative aspects of employee shareholding (free shares, stock options), plus mandatory reporting including INSEE surveys and BDESE contributions.
Employee lifecycle & process improvement
Owning HR processes from onboarding to offboarding — and continuously improving them. You won't just maintain the system; you'll help evolve it.
What We’re Looking For :
Payroll expertise (French payroll)
DSN and statutory filings
Immigration case management
EOR and international operations
OPCO and apprenticeship frameworks
Equity administration (AGA / stock options)
Process design mindset
Rigorous and deadline-driven
At least 5 years of experience in an HR Ops team, in a fast-pace environment
