Head of Procurement

Role Purpose
The Head of Procurement will lead the company’s procurement function, developing and executing sourcing strategies, managing strategic suppliers, and driving commercial excellence across all spend categories. The role ensures scalable operations, strong compliance, and maximum value creation for the business.

You will partner closely with Finance, Legal, Legal Operations, and Senior Management to enable efficient, compliant procurement processes and high-quality contracting workflows.

Key Responsibilities

1. Procurement Strategy & Operating Model

  • Design and execute a multi-year procurement strategy aligned with business OKRs and growth plans.

  • Build a scalable, agile procurement operating model that enables speed, compliance, and effective risk management.

  • Create transparency on purchasing volumes, forecast future demand, and identify category-level opportunities.

  • Develop, implement, and continuously enhance procurement processes, governance frameworks, and best practices to ensure scalability, compliance, and operational efficiency across the organization.

2. Category Leadership & Strategic Sourcing

  • Lead sourcing and negotiation activities across Technology/SaaS, Marketing, Professional Services, and Operations.

  • Conduct competitive bidding, supplier consolidation, proofs-of-concept, TCO analysis, and cost optimization initiatives.

  • Demonstrate expertise in complex technology contracting, including:

  • Cloud, SaaS, and hosted services;

  • AI/GenAI products and implementations;

  • Data handling, privacy, and security requirements;

  • Technical and commercial SLA frameworks (including AI-specific metrics).

3. Commercial & Contract Negotiations

  • Lead commercial negotiations to secure favorable pricing, terms, and value-added services.

  • Negotiate complex commercial structures involving performance-based models, AI-related data rights and usage, creative/marketing rights, and risk allocation.

  • Collaborate closely with Legal and Legal Operations teams on contract workflows, ensuring alignment with legal standards, risk frameworks, and contracting policies.

  • Ensure clear understanding of liability frameworks, IP protections, data obligations, regulatory impacts, and supplier risk.

4. Supplier Relationship & Performance Management

  • Build and manage a portfolio of strategic suppliers that support innovation, performance, and business resilience.

  • Implement supplier segmentation, KPIs, scorecards, performance reviews, and governance frameworks.

  • Manage escalations, enforce contractual terms, and drive adherence to service, delivery, and quality expectations.

  • Promote supplier diversity, responsible procurement, and sustainability practices.

5. Procurement Systems, P2P, and Process Enablement

  • Lead the implementation and optimization of procurement tools, including P2P, eSourcing, and spend analytics platforms.

  • In areas involving CLM, contract automation, and contracting workflows, the Head of Procurement will support these activities operationally by providing procurement-specific inputs, data accuracy, and process alignment.

  • Work closely with Legal Operations, Legal teams, Finance, and Senior Management to streamline sourcing, purchasing, and contracting workflows.

  • Ensure and support integration between procurement tools, CLM, ERP, and other systems to deliver efficient guided buying experiences and reduced cycle times.

  • Serve as a strategic advisor to senior leadership on market trends, sourcing risks, innovation opportunities, and long-term vendor strategies.

  • Develop playbooks, standards, and best practices that enable scalable and consistent procurement activities across the business.

6. Spend Analytics, Reporting & Financial Impact

  • Own procurement spend analytics, benefits tracking, and value realization reporting.

  • Monitor budget performance, supplier renewals, and opportunities to eliminate value leakage.

  • Provide regular insights and reporting to senior leadership on KPIs, supplier performance, risks, and savings outcomes.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • 10+ years in procurement with 5+ years leading teams, ideally in high-growth or regulated environments where speed and precision both matter

  • Proven procurement leadership experience with strong category depth in Technology/SaaS, Professional Services, and Marketing.

  • Advanced capability in negotiating AI/GenAI supplier contracts, SaaS agreements, cloud services, and complex SLAs.

  • Strong command of commercial strategy, financial analysis, and supplier risk frameworks.

  • Familiarity with CLM systems, contracting workflows, and procurement automation (supporting role).

  • Data-driven approach — Advanced Excel/BI skills with proficiency with P2P systems, ERP integrations, spend analytics tools, and AI-enabled productivity solutions.

  • Ability to translate analytics into sourcing strategies and negotiation outcomes.

  • Expertise in cost optimization, supplier benchmarking, market scanning, and TCO modeling.

  • Demonstrated success leading procurement transformation and digitization initiatives.

  • Strong influencing and relationship-building skills across senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams.

  • Clear and confident communicator, capable of presenting structured recommendations and insights to leadership.

  • Collaborative, proactive, reliable, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
