About the Role:

Vercel is seeking a Head of Growth Marketing to lead marketing for the self-serve business — the high-velocity, product-led engine at the core of our growth strategy. You’ll own acquisition across digital surfaces — including web, SEO, paid media, localization, and emerging channels like Generative Engine Optimization (GEO), while partnering closely with Growth Product to drive activation, conversion, and monetization

You’ll also support the Demand Gen team with performance marketing execution and digital channel strategy for enterprise campaigns and ABM programs. This is a high-impact, hands-on leadership role for a growth-minded marketer who knows how to drive signups, scale experiments, and turn traffic into revenue.

What You Will Own:

  • Self-Serve Growth Strategy
    • Act as the marketing owner for the self-serve business, responsible for driving top-of-funnel acquisition and fueling the PLG motion.
    • Partner with Growth Product to align on activation experiments, onboarding flows, and monetization strategies.
  • Website Performance & Optimization
    • Own Vercel.com as a growth surface — improving discoverability, conversion, and performance.
    • Lead testing and experimentation in partnership with Product, Design, and Engineering.
  • Performance Marketing
    • Lead paid acquisition across channels (search, display, paid social, retargeting).
    • Optimize CAC, payback, and channel ROI through data-driven iteration.
    • Support the Demand Gen team by advising on and executing paid campaigns for enterprise and ABM programs.
  • SEO & Generative Engine Optimization (GEO)
    • Drive organic acquisition through technical SEO and structured content.
    • Build visibility in AI-driven discovery surfaces like ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini.
  • Localization & Scaled Programs
    • Lead the digital localization strategy to grow international self-serve revenue.
    • Develop scalable content and experimentation frameworks for global audiences.
  • Analytics & Experimentation
    • Define and monitor growth KPIs across web and digital channels.
    • Build a test-and-learn culture with rapid iteration and tight feedback loops.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Partner with Product Marketing, Developer Marketing, and Demand Gen to provide digital execution support and shared infrastructure.

About You:

  • 6–10+ years of experience in growth, digital, or performance marketing — ideally in a PLG or developer-first SaaS environment.
  • Proven success scaling self-serve acquisition, activation, and monetization.
  • Deep knowledge of SEO, paid acquisition, and website conversion optimization.
  • Experience managing high-traffic websites and leading cross-functional growth experiments.
  • Familiarity with performance marketing in both self-serve and enterprise contexts.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in attribution, funnel metrics, and experimentation frameworks.
  • Comfort partnering directly with Product and Data teams.

Bonus Points For:

    • Familiarity with Next.js, Vercel, or the modern frontend ecosystem.
    • Experience marketing to developers or technical audiences.
    • Early experimentation with GEO (Generative Engine Optimization).
    • Experience localizing content and digital programs for global reach.

The San Francisco, CA base pay range for this role is $230,000-$300,000. Actual salary will be based on job-related skills, experience, and location. Compensation outside of San Francisco may be adjusted based on employee location. The total compensation package may include benefits, equity-based compensation, and eligibility for a company bonus or variable pay program depending on the role.
