Full Job Description
Do you believe building world-class, large-scale events is where strategy meets execution?
Then Jobber might be the place for you. We’re looking for an Event Manager to join our Marketing team and own the planning, promotion, and execution of large-scale, high-visibility, Jobber-led events that connect our brand with customers, partners, and our community. This role is not just about logistics: event promotion is a core responsibility.
Jobber exists to help people in small businesses be successful. We work with small home service businesses, like your local plumbers, painters, and landscapers, to transform the way service is delivered through technology. With Jobber, they can quote, schedule, invoice, and collect payments from their customers while providing an easy and professional customer experience. Running a small business today isn’t like it used to be; the way we consume and deliver service is changing rapidly, technology is evolving, and customers expect more. That’s why we put the power and flexibility in their hands to run their businesses how, where, and when they want!
Our culture of transparency, inclusivity, collaboration, and innovation has been recognized by Great Place to Work, Canada’s Most Admired Corporate Cultures, and more. Jobber has also been named on the Globe and Mail’s Canada’s Top Growing Companies list, and Deloitte Canada’s Technology Fast 50™, Enterprise Fast 15, and Technology Fast 500™ lists. With an Executive team that has over thirty years of industry experience of leading the way, we’ve come a long way from our first customer in 2011—but we’ve just scratched the surface of what we want to accomplish for our customers.
The Team:
Marketing at Jobber is responsible for telling our story, growing awareness, and driving demand. Within Marketing, Events plays a critical role in bringing the Jobber brand to life through Jobber-led, high-impact experiences—both virtual and in-person—that drive connection, education, and measurable business outcomes.
You’ll work closely with Brand and Creative, Product and Product Marketing, and Revenue teams, as well as external vendors and partners, to deliver events that support company priorities.
The Role:
As Event Manager, you’ll be responsible for promoting, planning, and executing Jobber-led, high-visibility events end to end. This portfolio primarily includes flagship, virtual, and hybrid events with large audiences and meaningful budgets.
You’ll own event strategy and execution while leading cross-functional collaboration and communication across Marketing, Product, Revenue, and external partners to ensure events are well-promoted, well-attended, and demonstrably impactful.
This role is ideal for someone who is equal parts strategic planner, operator, and marketer—someone who understands that a great event isn’t just well-produced, but aggressively and thoughtfully promoted.
Key events for this role include Jobber Summit, our annual virtual conference for the blue collar community, and Jobber Now, our annual product launch and user conference.
The Event Manager will:
Own end-to-end strategy and execution for Jobber-led, high-impact events (notably Jobber Summit and Jobber Now) across virtual, in-person, and hybrid formats, from concept through post-event analysis.
Serve as the driver for flagship events, developing and owning detailed workback plans, timelines, budgets, and executional oversight across tech, experience, and promotion.
Lead the event promotion strategy with ambitious registration and attendance targets, coordinating integrated marketing campaigns across email, paid media, social, in-product, partnerships, and emerging channels.
Act as the central owner across Marketing Channels, Product Marketing, Product, Revenue, Creative Studio, Sales, Success, Partnerships, and external vendors to ensure cohesive execution and messaging.
Translate business goals into event outcomes (e.g., net new lead acquisition and net revenue expansion ) and ensure events meaningfully contribute to broader company objectives.
Partner closely with Product and Product Marketing to align event goals, launches, customer education, and product inclusion, while collaborating with Programming leads to ensure content supports the overall event vision.
Oversee large-scale event logistics and production, including vendor management, venues, AV/tech platforms, speaker coordination, customer support readiness, and on-site experience delivery.
Measure, report, and optimize event performance across registrations, attendance, engagement, revenue, and post-event outcomes; partner with Analytics and Marketing to assess impact against goals and use insights to improve promotion, programming, and experience design.
Communicate proactively with stakeholders and senior leadership on progress, risks, and results, ensuring clarity and alignment throughout the planning and execution lifecycle.
Travel when required within Canada and the United States, with occasional international travel, for flagship events, site visits, trade shows, conferences, and keynote filming for flagship events, site visits, trade shows, conferences, and keynote filming as needed.
To be successful, you’ll need:
Deep experience planning and delivering complex events, experiential marketing, or integrated marketing programs, with end-to-end ownership and cross-functional leadership.
Stamina, adaptability, and time-management skills to perform effectively while traveling frequently, including multi-day events and tight schedules.
Proven experience driving registrations and attendance for large-scale events (e.g., tens of thousands of registrants).
Experience planning and executing high-visibility company-led events with significant budgets, including seven-figure programs.
Strong project management skills with experience managing complex timelines and cross-functional stakeholders.
Experience collaborating closely with Product and Product Marketing teams.
A data-informed mindset, with experience measuring performance and iterating based on results.
Exceptional communication and organizational skills, with strong attention to detail.
Comfort operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
It would be really great (but not a deal-breaker) if you had:
Experience working in SaaS or at a high-growth tech company.
Familiarity with event technology platforms, CRM integrations, and marketing automation tools.
Experience leading a user conference at a SaaS or high-growth tech company.
CMP certification or equivalent.
