About the team
Stripe Disputes helps our users recoup the most funds from online disputes in the most efficient way for their businesses. The org is responsible for products that provide insights into, responses to, and outcomes of, online payment disputes, as well as building the infrastructure (with issuers, financial partners and third parties) to support these products.
The Disputes Foundations team exists to build a robust, extensible, and maintainable dispute platform for disputes product and integration teams, so that we can run our core dispute business and enable continuous delivery of impactful products with delightful experience.
The team is looking for an engineering leader that is able to be both technically involved as well as engaged in developing the strategy for the organization and the people.
What you’ll do
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our Disputes Foundations team in Singapore. This role involves managing a team of talented engineers, driving technical strategy, partnering with product management to build and deliver Dispute products, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions that support Stripe's dispute management capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Be actively involved in strategic direction and product decisions.
- Support a team of senior engineers and help develop their careers with stretch responsibilities and excellent feedback.
- Set and execute a vision for how to rapidly scale Stripe revenue product offerings and features quickly and efficiently to support top enterprise use cases.
- Work with engineering leaders in your org and across Stripe to build extensible and automated systems and make the right foundational investments.
- Empower your engineering team to deliver a high level of technical quality and impact.
- Recruit a diverse team of engineers that are amongst the best in the industry, from outreach to closing.
- Contribute to engineering-wide initiatives as a member of Stripe’s engineering management team.
Who you are

Minimum requirements
- 3+ years of experience in an engineering management role.
- 8+ years of full-time software development experience.
- Demonstrated track record of successfully hiring, developing, and mentoring engineers.
- Ability to lead by example in fast-paced, high-impact, and ambiguous environments.
- Commitment to high operational rigor when working with production systems.
- Experience building extensible software solutions that scale with business growth.
- Adept at thriving in a collaborative, cross-functional, and cross-timezone environment, while fostering a positive team culture.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience building products for enterprise users or direct consumers.
- Experience developing product platforms to serve other product teams.
- Familiarity with the payment processing industry.
- Proven track record collaborating with partners across multiple regions and time zones.
