💻 Role
Engineering Manager (Whatnot Inc.; Culver City, CA): Plan and manage software projects, coordinating and aligning the team’s goals against others across the business. Define different seller cuts and measuring the seller lifecycle. Make sellers successful throughout their lifecycle, including seller onboarding, seller marketing, growth capabilities, and tooling, and resurrecting churned sellers. Hire and develop engineers across all Whatnot Inc.’s consumer applications and backend systems. Collaborate with product and design counterparts to influence the strategic direction of the team, and advocate for technical solutions. Serve as a technical leader with hands-on experience in large distributed systems and complex user interfaces for web and mobile applications. Lead the development of user experiences and the underlying software systems, ensuring alignment between form and function, and effectively guiding teams to build solutions in this manner. Supervise 5 Software Engineers. Telecommuting permitted from within the U.S.

Minimum requirements: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science or related field, plus five (5) years of experience as an Engineering Manager or related occupation.
Must have experience with the following: operating as a technical leader in large distributed systems and complex user interfaces across web and mobile platforms; building user experiences and system backend design and directing teams to build in this manner; recruiting, mentoring, retaining, and measuring high performing teams; leveraging technical debt; instrumenting product metrics and recognizing the value and limits of data; managing stakeholders; and two (2) years of engineering management.
Salary: $245,000 - $335,000 per year

Parental Leave
16 weeks of paid parental leave + one month gradual return to work *company leave allowances run concurrently with country leave requirements which take precedence.
