Director of Marketing
Role Overview
This is a senior-level VP role responsible for building and leading the integrated business development and marketing function at Finalis, a fintech startup targeting growth from $12M to $80M revenue by 2027. Day-to-day, you will formalize partnership strategies, drive go-to-market motions, oversee marketing execution, and develop a small team, serving as the public face of the company in NYC's private capital markets community. The hire will have high impact by scaling growth through strategic programs, partner-led initiatives, and revenue-attributable marketing efforts.

Finalis is the regulatory infrastructure and deal management platform for private capital markets. 900+ member firms. $12M revenue. Path to $80M by 2027.
We've proven product-market fit. Now we need marketing leadership to match our product ambition. We're launching a new platform, expanding into new segments, and exploring product-led growth for a virtual data room. This is the year we build a real marketing function.
You'll inherit a small team and have full latitude to assess capabilities and shape the function. You'll partner closely with our Head of Product on GTM strategy, but you own marketing.

What You'll Own
Demand Generation
Inbound engine: content, SEO, paid, conversion. You own pipeline contribution and can tie marketing spend to revenue. As we mature, you'll layer in account-based strategies.
Brand
Positioning, voice, visual identity. We're evolving from "compliance provider" to "the platform for private capital markets." You'll lead that narrative shift and make sure it shows up everywhere.
Product Marketing
Messaging and positioning by segment (Launchers, Operators, Strategic). Sales enablement. Competitive positioning. Partner with Product to turn roadmap into GTM strategy.
Product-Led Growth
We're bringing a virtual data room to market and want to explore PLG as the motion. This is greenfield—you'll partner with Product to design the user journey and build the funnel from scratch.
Team
You'll manage social, brand/design, and eventually growth marketing. Assess what you inherit. Build what you need—whether that's hiring, contractors, or agencies.
Year One
Launch GTM for our new platform. Build the PLG motion for the virtual data room. Establish marketing as a measurable contributor to pipeline. Have a team you're proud of.
Who You Are
A builder. You've built marketing functions or capabilities from scratch—not just optimized what existed. You're comfortable with ambiguity and don't need perfect process to start.
AI-forward. You use AI tools daily—for content, research, analysis, automation. You see AI as how a small team punches above its weight.
Metrics-driven. You think in pipeline, conversion rates, and revenue impact. You can connect what marketing does to what the business needs.
Requirements
7-10+ years in B2B marketing with real product marketing or growth marketing experience at a SaaS company
You've built and managed a team (even a small one)
Track record launching products and driving adoption
Nice to Have
PLG experience (free trials, freemium, self-serve)
Fintech, financial services, or capital markets exposure
SMB or mid-market B2B experience
