We are looking for a Department Manager to join our rapidly growing venture-backed company. The Department Manager will oversee the Implant department’s workflows, equipment, team members, and quality. In this role, you will manage a team of 40+ technicians, and 3 Supervisors, in a state of the art Manufacturing Facility in Lehi, UT across 24/7 shifts. You will be responsible for ensuring that orders are fabricated at the highest quality standards per customer deadlines. What You'll Do

  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve workflows and processes for optimal efficiency and scalability

  • Outline, track, and report on key performance indicators to drive accountability and informed decision-making to help the facility reach new levels

  • Quickly troubleshoot and solve people, process, and technology issues as you operate within large scale and fast paced dental lab

  • Monitor and enforce adherence to strict manufacturing quality standards (e.g., equipment maintenance and repair) and roll up your sleeves to lead by example where needed. High quality is key to efficient scalability!

  • Lead, scale, and continuously train a team of 40+ technicians as they execute daily operational tasks

  • Work with other teams to proactively identify and address high priority improvement opportunities

  • Report directly to the facility’s Director of Manufacturing

What We're Looking For

  • 7+ years of experience managing a department in a manufacturing environment, preferably related to dental.

  • Ability to be full-time onsite in Provo location Mon-Fri

  • Proven track record of improving KPIs at a team and/or department level

  • Comfortable performing data analysis and making decisions based on the results

  • Experience reporting on performance metrics during recurring business meetings

  • Passion for breaking down complex problems into smaller manageable steps in order to help team members effectively work through the ambiguity

  • High level of comfort with digital tools and technology

  • Very high attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Team player attitude and willingness to help others to help the team exceed expectations

  • Natural curiosity and ability to learn new concepts, tools, and workflows quickly

  • Strong self-motivation, self-direction, and ability to work with multiple stakeholders to push improvement initiatives to completion

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Bonus Points For

  • Previously built and/or led departments in a manufacturing environment, including the operational infrastructure (e.g., inventory management software, written SOPs)
