Role Overview:
We are searching for a Database Specialist / DevOps-Oriented DBA for a technology company operating fully on AWS.
This role focuses on database deployments, schema migrations, secure production operations, and CI/CD automation for MySQL/Aurora environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Execute and manage schema changes and database deployments on AWS RDS (Aurora/MySQL).
Plan, test, and safely deploy database migrations in production environments.
Build CI/CD pipelines for database operations using Jenkins.
Manage production databases: backups, restores, monitoring, availability.
Support replication, HA configurations, and basic performance troubleshooting.
Evaluate deployment risks and ensure data safety before promoting changes.
Collaborate closely with development and DevOps teams on AWS migrations.
Document processes, deployment standards, and recovery procedures.
Requirements:
5+ years working as a DBA or Database Engineer in production environments.
Experience with AWS RDS (Aurora/MySQL) administration.
Proven experience deploying schema changes and handling controlled DB migrations.
Hands-on experience with CI/CD for database operations (Jenkins preferred).
Strong understanding of DevOps/SRE practices in cloud environments.
Ability to assess risks, validate migrations, and avoid unsafe operations.
Strong English communication skills (written and spoken). (MANDATORY)
