Founding CTO (Direct Hire)

Location: Miami, FL (Onsite – especially for the first few months)
Compensation: $125,000–$150,000 base + meaningful equity
Hiring Type: Full-time, Direct Hire

About the Company

We’re an early-stage startup building a 0→1 product with strong founder conviction and clear vision. The Founding CTO will be a true technical partner to the founders—owning architecture, execution, and early team formation.

The Role

We’re looking for a Founding CTO who is highly hands-on and comfortable building from the ground up. This role starts as a lead individual contributor and evolves into a technical leader responsible for hiring and managing the engineering team.

You’ll work closely with the founders to translate vision into a scalable, cost-efficient product and define the long-term technical roadmap.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the 0-to-1 build of the company’s core product

  • Architect and implement a cost-efficient, scalable tech stack

  • Own full-stack development, including backend services, frontend delivery, and data modeling

  • Make early architectural decisions with scalability and maintainability in mind

  • Act as a hands-on individual contributor in the early phase

  • Hire, mentor, and lead the engineering team as the company grows

  • Partner closely with founders on product vision, execution strategy, and technical trade-offs

  • Establish best practices for engineering, deployment, and security

Preferred Tech Stack

  • Open to the CTO’s recommendation

  • TypeScript-based stack encouraged (e.g., React + Node.js) for cost efficiency and speed

Required Experience

  • Proven experience as a Founding Engineer, Lead Engineer, or CTO in an early-stage startup

  • Demonstrated success building and shipping a 0-to-1 product

  • Strong full-stack expertise, including backend systems, frontend frameworks, and data modeling

  • Experience designing systems with scalability and growth in mind

  • Comfortable working onsite in Miami, especially during the initial months

  • Willingness to balance execution today with leadership tomorrow
