ALSO is looking for an Inventory & COGS Accounting Manager to own the inventory costing, reporting and valuation processes. This role will play a critical part in building scalable inventory accounting operations as we prepare to launch our first products later this year. This is a unique opportunity to directly influence the company’s financial foundation and contribute to the Company’s vision to offer sustainable mobility solutions.
What You Will Do
Own day-to-day inventory accounting, including inventory costing, valuation and COGS management
Reconcile inventory accounts monthly across raw materials, consignment and finished goods.
Prepare and record COGS journal entries and related adjustments
Identify and allocate inventory (or COGS) related costs such as tariffs, freight, overhead and other miscellaneous period expenses to ensure accurate and timely recognition.
Partner cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Fulfillment, Logistics and Procurement teams to streamline and strengthen inventory processes
Design and implement sustainable, scalable inventory tracking processes within a complex, multi-tier supplier environment.
Oversee Netsuite system developments and enhancements pertaining to inventory management, including integrations with 3PLs.
Calculate and record inventory provisions, including excess and obsolete inventory, returns, lower of cost or market (LCM), and purchase commitment reserves
Own month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes in assigned areas ensuring accurate and timely reporting
Prepare ad hoc inventory and COGS reporting as needed
Build, document, and improve inventory accounting processes, controls, policies and procedures
Work with business partners to improve and automate end to end processes (i.e. purchasing, inventory management, etc)
Maintain files and all supporting documentation in a logical and organized fashion
What You Will Bring
Bachelor’s degrees in Accounting, Finance or related field
7+ years of experience in a corporate accounting role or public accounting. Experience with inventory and/ or cost accounting required.
Strong understanding of US GAAP, particularly ASC 330.
Experience using or developing agentic AI and/or automation within accounting processes, or a strong willingness to learn and apply these technologies, strongly preferred.
CPA or CPA track highly desired
Experience in Oracle NetSuite ideal
Advanced Excel skills
Comfortable in an ambiguous environment with little day to day direction
Strong attention to detail with ability to self-prioritize
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
The salary for this position ranges from $140,000 - $175,000 USD depending on experience and qualifications.
