About the role...
We’re looking for a Corporate Counsel (Marketing) to be a legal partner to our Marketing team. You will advise on marketing and advertising initiatives across channels, ensuring our campaigns are compliant, creatively bold, and executed at pace. You’ll review and negotiate marketing agreements, clear rights for content, establish practical guardrails, and help teams move fast while managing risk. You’ll work closely with cross‑functional partners and outside counsel when needed, and contribute to lightweight processes and templates that scale with our marketing engine.

- Serve as day‑to‑day legal advisor to Marketing on campaigns, social content, creator programs, experiential activations, and press moments — helping teams ship on time with clear, practical guidance.
- Review and negotiate marketing agreements, including talent/influencer contracts, production SOWs, vendor/MSAs, licensing, NDAs, and promotional terms; create and improve templates and playbooks to increase speed and consistency.
- Own rights and clearances for marketing assets, and advise on usage windows, territories, and platforms; partner with stakeholders to avoid takedowns and disputes.
- Advise on advertising and consumer protection laws (e.g., endorsements/disclosures, substantiation, contests/sweepstakes), and maintain guardrails that enable bold but compliant creative.
- Track and socialize updates to relevant regulations and platform policies; run brief trainings for marketers and creators on disclosures, usage rights, and brand safety.
- Assist in other legal matters depending on interest and need.
✅ You have...
- J.D. (or international equivalent) and active bar membership in good standing.
- 4-8+ years of relevant legal experience (e.g., clerkship, law firm, in-house), including familiarity with multiple relevant areas of law (e.g., copyright, trademark, right of publicity and NIL, advertising, claim substantiation) and experience advising on marketing and advertising campaigns, including social media.
- Strong contract drafting/negotiation skills across talent/influencer, production, licensing, and vendor agreements; comfort balancing risk with business goals and speed.
- Clear, concise communication tailored to creative and non‑legal stakeholders; ability to give actionable guidance and explain trade‑offs under tight timelines.
- Proven cross‑functional partnership and judgment in fast‑moving environments; ability to prioritize, create lightweight processes, and keep teams unblocked.
- Ability to work from or relocate to Pittsburgh, PA.

- Deep familiarity with social media marketing including working with social media agencies, particularly outside the United States.
- Experience handling marketing-related disputes.
- Experience with contests, sweepstakes, or promotional offers.

- Interest in learning new areas of law and how they interact with new technologies such as targeted advertising, globalization, social media, and generative AI.
