Learn more at www.goiguide.com.About the RoleWe are seeking a motivated and adaptable Cloud Platform Engineer to join our growing Engineering team. In this role, you ll contribute to the design, automation, and management of our AWS-based cloud infrastructure, collaborating closely with experienced engineers to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing systems.As part of our Infrastructure team, you'll help shape the foundation of our platform, working across DevOps toolchains, container orchestration, cloud security, and automation. The ideal candidate is curious, solutions-oriented, and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. You should enjoy solving complex problems, streamlining processes, and continuously learning new technologies.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions across cloud environments.Design and implement Continuous Delivery pipelines and deployment/testing automation.Implement and manage monitoring, alerting, and logging systems across varied tech stacks and containerized environments.Enhance and maintain cloud security tooling and practices across the AWS ecosystem.Collaborate with developers, product managers, and stakeholders to improve and unblock development workflows.Research, evaluate, and integrate new tools and technologies to improve infrastructure reliability and efficiency.Investigate and execute on infrastructure migrations (on-prem to cloud or cloud-to-cloud)Required Skills & Qualifications3 years' experience building Infrastructure as Code with a strong focus on Terraform and a deep understanding of AWS in highly available, scalable environments.Must be comfortable with services such as VPC, ELB, IAM, ASG, EC2, CloudTrail, Lambda, and others.Strong Python skills, ideally from a prior background as a software engineerKnowledge of cloud operations tasks in regards to scalability, deployments, and zero- downtime upgrades.Troubleshooting large cloud infrastructure.Virtualization and in-depth Linux knowledge.5 years working knowledge with networking and network/system security, including firewalls, IP networking, VPNs, DNS, routing, switching, load balancers, WAF/firewalls, DDOS protection, and monitoring.5 years hands-on maintenance and administration of Linux flavours.3 years working with DevOps/CI toolchains: CircleCI/Github actions/Gitlab-ci, Git/SVN,CodeBuild, CodeDeploy, CodePipeline, Puppet/Chef/Salt/Ansible, Confluence, Python/Ruby3 years of hands-on experience in implementing Security as Code seen throughApplication Security architecture in the context of CI/CD.Hands-on experience with scripting and coding using Python, BashContainers experience Docker, Kubernetes.Additional AssetsAWS cloud certificateTerraform certificateA link to a Github/Gitlab account.Familiarity with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment practices.Location & Work ModelCandidates who can work from our Waterloo office 3 days a week will be given priority.
