About the Role

As the Chief Medical Officer at Wheel, you will serve as the clinical architect of our virtual care ecosystem. You are the bridge between medical excellence and scalable technology, providing strategic clinical leadership to our Commercial, Product, and Operations teams.

You aren't just an advisor; you are a key driver of our market reputation. You will oversee the clinical implementation of our programs, ensure our protocols are rooted in rigorous evidence-based medicine, and act as the executive clinical voice in high-stakes commercial discussions with enterprise partners.

What You’ll Do

  • Clinical Product Vision: Partner with the Product and Engineering teams to bake clinical integrity into the roadmap. You will ensure platform capabilities don't just "work," but actively drive superior patient outcomes and provider satisfaction.

  • Commercial Catalyst: Serve as the "Clinical Closer" for enterprise sales. You will act as the primary point of escalation and expertise for prospective clients, articulating how Wheel’s clinical protocols and operations solve their specific healthcare challenges.

  • Quality & Safety Governance: Design, implement, and oversee robust Clinical Quality Improvement (CQI) programs. You will define the KPIs that measure our success and lead the remediation strategy for any clinical safety escalations.

  • Evidence-Based Leadership: Ensure all virtual care programs and clinical protocols are evidence-based, compliant, and optimized for a digital-first environment.

  • Cross-Functional Bridge: Align clinical priorities with Account Management and Operations to ensure seamless program execution and long-term client retention.

Who You Are

  • Credentialed Expert: An MD or DO with 10+ years of medical practice and at least 7 years of leadership experience specifically within virtual care or health-tech environments.

  • Strategic Architect: You are a "thought partner" who thinks in systems. You can help leaders scale their teams while maintaining a high bar for clinical safety.

  • Master Communicator: You can translate complex medical data into actionable insights for non-clinical stakeholders, from software engineers to venture investors.

  • Data-Driven Leader: You are proficient in clinical informatics and the implementation of safety programs backed by clear, measurable metrics. You are an active user of AI in clinical applications as well as productivity tools..

Growth Mindset: You thrive in the fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous environment of a scaling tech company and can balance clinical "perfection" with operational "velocity."
