System Strategy - IT Operations

Manager – IT Operations Consulting is a client-facing leader who partners with organizations to assess, stabilize, and modernize their IT operating environments. This role focuses on improving the reliability, scalability, and effectiveness of IT operations, including infrastructure, cloud and network operations, service delivery, security alignment, and operational governance.

This position supports Riveron clients undergoing technology-enabled transformation, M&A integration, and operational improvement initiatives by ensuring IT operations are well-governed, supporting the client’s operating model and aligned to project objectives.

Who You Are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field.

  • 5–7+ years of experience in IT operations, infrastructure management, or IT service delivery.

  • Strong understanding of ITSM frameworks, cloud platforms, networking, endpoint management, and cybersecurity fundamentals.

  • Strong client-facing communication and executive presentation skills.

  • Experience with MSPs and third-party vendors.

  • Exposure to Azure and AWS environments.

  • Experience supporting IT due diligence, M&A integration or carve-outs.

  • Certifications such as ITIL, PMP/PRINCE2, Lean Six Sigma, PROSCI, CompTIA, Azure, or AWS.

What You’ll Do:

IT Operational Assessment & Stabilization:

  • Lead comprehensive assessments of IT operations, including infrastructure, cloud platforms, networks, cybersecurity posture, and service delivery capabilities.

  • Perform root-cause analyses of IT and business application issues and develop actionable remediation and modernization roadmaps.

  • Define and implement IT performance metrics, KPIs, dashboards, and recurring operational review routines.

Service Delivery:

  • Design, evaluate, and enhance IT operating models, service desk structures, escalation paths, and support workflows.

  • Implement or mature ITIL-aligned processes, including incident, problem, change, release, and configuration management.

  • Improve service quality, responsiveness, and end-user experience through standardized processes and tooling.

Infrastructure & Cloud Operations Advisory:

  • Advise clients on infrastructure strategy, cloud operations, endpoint management, monitoring solutions, and automation opportunities.

  • Evaluate and manage third-party vendors and managed service providers (MSPs) to ensure service quality and cost effectiveness.

M&A Integration & Carve Out Support:

  • Lead IT operations workstreams for mergers, acquisitions, integrations, and carve-outs.

  • Support Day-1 readiness, TSA planning and execution, infrastructure separation, and stand-up of new operating environments.

Team Leadership & Delivery Oversight:

  • Manage and mentor junior staff.

  • Provide coaching, performance feedback, and quality assurance across engagements.

  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to Riveron quality standards.
