Full Job Description
Solace is a healthcare advocacy marketplace that connects patients and families to experts who help them understand and take charge of their personal health
About the Role
As a Business Development Representative (BDR) at Solace, you will play a critical role in building and scaling our partnerships pipeline across multiple go-to-market channels. This is a health-tech partnerships BDR role focused on outbound prospecting, early discovery, qualification, and pipeline development, laying the groundwork for scalable partnership motions as Solace grows.
You’ll engage a diverse set of partners, including hospital-adjacent teams (social workers, care managers, post-discharge and transitions-of-care teams), patient organizations (nonprofits, advocacy groups, disease foundations, and membership organizations), and, over time, additional channels such as employers and marketplaces as Solace’s commercial motion expands.
This role is not about closing deals end-to-end. Instead, you’ll be responsible for identifying the right partners, starting high-quality conversations, deeply understanding partner needs, and qualifying opportunities before handing off scoping and closing to our Partnerships Lead.
This is an individual contributor role for someone who thrives in ambiguity, enjoys building from zero to one, and wants to help define how partnerships work at a fast-growing health-tech company. You will report directly to Solace’s Partnerships Lead.
About Solace
Healthcare in the U.S. is fundamentally broken. The system is so complex that 88% of U.S. adults do not have the health literacy necessary to navigate it without help. Solace cuts through the red tape of healthcare by pairing patients with expert advocates and giving them the tools to make better decisions—and get better outcomes.
We're a Series B startup, founded in 2022 and backed by Inspired Capital, Craft Ventures, Torch Capital, Menlo Ventures, and Signalfire. Our fully remote U.S. team is lean, mission-driven, and growing quickly.
Solace isn't a place to coast. We're here to redefine healthcare—and that demands urgency, precision, and heart. If you're looking to stretch yourself, sharpen your edge, and do the best work of your life alongside a team that cares deeply, you're in the right place. We’re intense, and we like it that way.

What You’ll Do
Build and maintain a high-quality partnerships pipeline across multiple channels, including hospital-adjacent teams, patient organizations, and emerging partner segments.
Own outbound prospecting and early discovery, identifying organizations and teams that can benefit from Solace and initiating thoughtful, high-signal conversations.
Engage hospital-adjacent stakeholders, including social workers, care managers, transitions-of-care teams, and post-discharge programs, and understand how Solace fits into their workflows.
Qualify partnership opportunities, running discovery calls to assess need, readiness, and potential impact before handing off to the Partnerships Lead for scoping and closing.
Craft and iterate outreach messaging with precision and empathy, treating each interaction as the start of a long-term relationship.
Document learnings and patterns, helping turn early partnership experiments into repeatable, scalable motions.
Collaborate closely with internal teams (partnerships, product, ops, marketing, clinical) to ensure strong handoffs, clear expectations, and smooth partner onboarding.
Maintain strong CRM hygiene, tracking pipeline health, partner engagement, and conversion signals.
Represent Solace externally with credibility and care—especially in mission-driven environments where trust and follow-through matter deeply.
What You Bring to the Table
A strong bias toward action and a desire to build momentum through consistent, high-quality outreach.
Comfort operating in ambiguity and early-stage environments, where the playbook is still being written.
Sharp interpersonal instincts—you can ask great questions, listen carefully, and build trust quickly.
A builder’s mindset: you’re excited to help define what “great” looks like rather than inheriting a finished system.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills—clear, persuasive, and human.
High attention to detail and follow-through; you understand that partnerships succeed or fail in the seams.
Applicants must be based in the United States.
Up for the Challenge?
We look forward to meeting you.
